So if you have a 15GB movie expecting to convert it to like a 720p file while you're mobile? That won't work unless you take the whole 15GB file and download to that your device. Plex server on a Drobo will work, but it will not convert media at all because it's so woefully underpowered. I initially moved to running the server on the Plex because I didn't want to run my desktop computer 24/7. Installers these days (should) do this automatically for you, but this whole process is stupid. Depending on how out of date you are, you may need to uninstall the whole thing, install the newest version and then keep it updated from there, not sure. I may have missed some steps, but basically you're doing a fully manual update by overwriting the previous files. That stupid fucking "There's a new Drobo update available!" is now gone.Copy the unzipped files, paste them to the Plex folder so that if any files are identical, they will be overwritten. The unzipped files and the files in the DroboApps/Plex folder should be somewhat identical.I can't screenshot it because I don't have it installed anymore. I think you'll see a Plex folder in there.Go into the Drobo system folder, find the DroboApps folder:.You'll see things like an Application folder, a Library folder and some other files in there.Unzip this file and manually extract it to the desktop or where ever.tgz file into the Drobo app folder and update the app. There are some guides out there that say to move the. ![]() I have stopped using Plex on a Drobo (and moved to Plex Server on a Shield), so I can't test this as I go but, It's not intuitive or easy, but I figured out how to update Plex on a Drobo.
